The idea of The Listening Space dawned on our founder, Ms. Shriya Joshi, when she was pursuing her M.Phil. at Hanumangarh. During this period, she developed a deep belief that every individual holds within them a story that deserves to be heard with patience, warmth, and without judgment. Everyone around us has some kind of monster they are dealing with, but most of us fail to realize that simply talking to mental health professional can help in unimaginable ways.
She was also posted at the Regional Mental Hospital, rehabilitation centers, and special schools, which gave her in-depth experience in understanding diverse psychological needs. Through this journey, she gained hands-on expertise in all areas of mental health — ranging from child and adolescent concerns to adult and geriatric issues.
And thus, The Listening Space was born. Our name says it all — we listen, always.
Founder Ms. Shriya Joshi hails from the famous Indian city of Nagpur (The Tiger Capital of India). She aspires to become like her parents, Mrs. Smita Shriram Joshi and Mr. Shriram Arvind Joshi, whose values and compassion continue to inspire her. She completed her schooling at Somalwar High School, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur, and pursued her graduation with a B.A. in Psychology from Hislop College, Nagpur. She then earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune, and went on to pursue her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from Sri Kaushal Das University, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan.
She was awarded her RCI Licence in 2025. Since enrolling for her graduation back in 2018, she has worked with various hospitals, rehabilitation centres, and psychiatrists to hone the skills she needed to start her own venture and help others around her. Her primary goal is to ensure that everyone who seeks her support — or whom she reaches out to — has access to quality psychological care.
I am an RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of mental health concerns, with a focus on the eclectic therapy approach.
